What are the Green Room and the VRE Core?
The Green Room and VRE Core are segregated data zones within Projects on the VRE.
| About | Green Room | VRE Core |
| Purpose | The Green Room is an environment designed for the de-identification, transformation, and preparation of hospital data prior to being transferred to the VRE Core systems. | The VRE Core is designed to support the full lifecycle of data after being de-identified in the Green Room, including storage, federation, discovery, and analysis. |
| Pseudonymization | The Green Room is designed for the temporary storage of data with personally identifiable information. | The VRE Core is designed for the secure storage of de-identified hospital data. |
| Access | All Project members have access to their named folder within the Project's Green Room. | The VRE Core is only accessible to Project members with specific user roles. |
| Data Access | Data uploaded to the Green Room zone is only accessible to the Project member that uploaded the data and their Project Administrator(s). | Data copied to the VRE Core is accessible to all Project members with access to the VRE Core zone. |
